Morning ritual? I wish I had one! My main challenge in the morning is managing to leave the house as close to “on time” as possible. I try to put some makeup on and usually end up juggling Mascara and concealer in front of the mirror. For some reason time passes by much faster in the morning, which doesn’t help my clumsiness.
The results of this fiasco:
I drop my eye shadow (worst possible thing that can happen when in a hurry)
I smudge mascara on the mirror
I look like this:
Every time I end up looking like a clown or cleaning my bathroom I ask myself “WHY?” Not being a makeup freak, I sometimes wonder why I even bother. But looking into the mirror without makeup brings me back to a harsh reality: I have thick, dark circles under my eyes, no matter how much I sleep. Perhaps instead of spending tons of money on makeup, I should go buy a good moisturising cream. My skin would appreciate that.
Someone who already said bye-bye to too much make up successfully is Leandra Medine: she is not only an outstanding blogger and businesswoman, but also has a kick-ass attitude. She rejects wearing makeup, partly because she is too lazy and – even more importantly – because she likes what she sees in the mirror in the morning, without makeup.
Isn’t that a healthy and enviable attitude? Instead of putting on a mask every morning to turn your face into something you like looking at, focus on healthy and good skin, and add just a little bit of makeup. We all really should be able to write a love letter to our makeupless self. Leandra clearly can. That’s true beauty!
